‘Paddington’, is a san serif typeface made out of marmalade. It is created in majiscule lettering and utilises the organic forms. The transparent properties of marmalade allows the light to pass through, creating harsh shadows and allows the texture of the background to be shown. It was inspired by ants and honey, but due to cost and lack of ants the idea transformed to be created with marmalade. The title was also inspired by a favoured children’s book “The Adventures of Paddington Bear” and the bear’s love for marmalade. The typeface evokes feelings of childhood memories of playing in the dirt on a sunny day and letting you be free in your own fantasy land.
